The author uses different scenarios to show us the friendship that George and Lennie have. For example, the way in which they forget about their problems. After they run out of the city being followed by the authorities because of the incident Lennie has with a woman at the store for touching her soft red dress, George and Lennie sit in the middle of the forest and they star dreaming about their future farm. Both of them help each other forget their conflictive past by dreaming of having a their own farm.
